I'm sure you are ignoring people who's making fun of people that pays attention to details. Noticing details is a excellent trait and probably carried you to success. Why, you're driving a bimmer, right?

In any case, my car does the same thing. It may just be an imperfection in design that won't hurt a thing. Think of it as a baby that won't stand/sit still.

I'm away from my car now so I can't tell if mine does it too. I will say it would bug the hell out of me because that's all I'd see when I look at the instruments. (I'm betting mine is set at zero or I'd have noticed it already...)

One bit of advice -- top off your tank now before the price hits $5/gallon!

If it really bugs you, take it to the dealer and have them replace the speedo. However, if it were mine, I'd ignore it since I think when they start hacking around in your dash, they will have too many opportunities to screw up something else. You could end up worse off with rattles or ??? I don't think it's worth the risk or the loss of car use.

The pic was taken dead on. I just tried to include the gear info in the shot too.

I first noticed this about a week or two after I got the car. Was too excited before to notice any flaws in the car.

Qwf545, I agree with you. It does bother me, but not enough right now to take to the dealer for a fix. I'll wait for some time.

Here's my 6-month update... no issues with the car except for minor slamming when downshifting (specially from 3 to 2 and 2 to 1). No noticible tire noise either (have the Dunlop RFTs). Still puts a big smile on my face when I drive it!!

That has got to be one of the funniest things I have read. That guy doesn't deserve to drive a BMW... or any car.

That post is FREAKING HILARIOUS.... Stick to horses...they don't got gauges. Although it makes me wonder which end of the horse the carrot might wind up in....

Have you tried to the cluster reset routine using the hidden menu?
I have used it a few times just for the hell of it.
It makes all of the lights come on and forces the needles on both RPM and speedo to go to max and than back to "0" again.
Maybe this will fix the problem??

I can guess what the next question is going to be!!
