In Los Angeles, we regularly do 120+. It isn't as if we are reckless - it's just when you have so few people in such a large space, and frankly so little to look at - you just organically work your way up to those speeds.
Okay done dreaming....
Since I moved to LA a year ago I have literally not been able to exceed 70mph. It's insane, the traffic is unlike anything, and I've driven in many countries for work. There are parts of the 101 that I would compare to Mumbai (minus the wild dogs).

Highest i've gone was 150 mph when racing an e55 amg, you could barely do that speed in NYC highways but it was really late about 3am and no cars were around to risk somebody's else life. But it all ended when all of a sudden the low tire pressure message poped up. It was some scary shit for that light to come on such high speed. Learned my lesson lol

On a public road; of course not Sir. Although Porsche highlight in their nice glossy brochure the C2S can go upwards of 180MPH and I am sure they are correct! I also heard somewhere that an M6 can eat past 155MPH with ease - all 'hear-say' and speculation I hasted to add my good Sir.

I used to live in Germany, and on the E45 heading north from Munich to Berlin I hit 255KPH in a Sixt rental - 2011 5er GT. Can't for the life of me remember what version it was, but that was fun...almost 160mph just waiting for some Polish or Slovenian genius to pass at bus doing 70kph.
The German autobahn is definitely NOT what most people think. It is restricted, video monitored, packed and mostly 2 lanes in the rural areas. The speed-limit will go from nothing to 100kph in the blink of an eye and work down incrementally to 80kph. And it is alway, always under construction...
I am the only person I know with more than 3 speeding tickets in Germany. Luckily the points stay in DE and each only cost me ?99 and I paid on the spot.
OH - haha, one of the times I was 'pulled over' at the gas station! Apparently they had been trying to catch up with me for a while...
