I believe the RS6 makes those numbers via brake torquing off the line. He might have been surprised by the fact that you were going and then hit it. I'd have to pull up my C&D issue and see what the street start (5-60) is on a RS6. There is a chance that he was about to blow by you.
BTW, you should give ricracing a brake as the only S6 we had here was an Avant - so if it wasn't an RS6, it was a plain old A6 4.2 and those things are slow

Did it have the big flared fenders? That's usually the giveaway of faker RS6s... unless they actually spent the money to get the fenders replaced.
I've only seen one RS6 on the streets, and it looked phat with its flared fenders and big wheels.

On the way to work today I came upon an Audi RS6. At least that was what the badge on back indicated. We ended up at a stop light side-by-side, so I hit the DTC/DSC button, popped it into DS and and punched it on the green. I got a length ahead of the guy right away and stayed there up to a little over 60MPH (the speed limit) when the light ahead turned yellow. I eased off the gas and he kept going. He then hit the brakes and the car seemed to make smoke around the wheels. I guess he was impending lock-up and the pads were burning. We were side-by-side-again, so I tried to run him a second time, but he declined. So it was just a rebadged S6, right? An RS6 with a 0-60 of around 4.6 ought to trounce a 545.

Isn't the Avant a "station wagon" style variant? This was a sedan. As for flared wheel wells, they didn't stand out, so I'd have to say no, they weren't.

How about the exhaust tips. The S6 exhaust tips are smaller and round, the RS6 tips are very large and an oval shaped.

The S6 was only available in Wagon (aka Avant) form here. So it was not an S6.
