Bmw is one car that I have always thought made the coolest sound with their I6's. Now aside from all the benefits of a V8 which do you think makes a nicer sound the I6 or the V8 bmw's? I have heard so many 550/545s and 530s that the loudness is not much different unless you have other mods but stock for stock they are similar loudness with the I6 sounding cooler and more high pitched to me but I have always liked this

the I6 sounds great, but man, my 550 sounds real nice and smooth when you rev it up.

V8 sounds better. I miss rumble of my 4.4.i X5. Not that I don't like the twin turbo I6 in my 535xi, but the V8 sound is better in my opinion.

V8 sound is much better! The I6 sounds a little wimpy compared to the V8... That's a fact!

Try the V12 (760)....i come across 2 of them almost the same time at the same days in the car wash and they sound very quiet! you would think V12 must sound very loud! but no, it sound even more quiet then the 750! i was very surprise.................

No matter what i still think V8 sound much better
