The sound of a 535d video

My Ride: 2011 520dA coming up.

I noticed the other day some kind of a valve in my right exhaust. Someone knows what this is about?

You can find more information of that flap with search.

But shortly: It's underpressure operated "silencing aid". Low rpm it's closed to minimise out coming sound. Higher rpm's it opens to minimise back pressure to the engine.

How different? Less loud? My car neither has partical filter....Do you think 535D shud be even better?

When my car was on the rolling road and it was beated to the max, voice was like small gas turbine. That's of course back of the car. That 535d video sound more like soft v8 sound. From the front I think 530d and 535d are same.

Cars should be next to each other to make any real comparison.
