I had this too. I just coded it out so it doesn't show up. I don't have BT anyway

Ok, since I just bought my car recently, I figured I'd bring this up. Seems like most people either let the dealership replace a telematics module or they were able to reset the error somehow, someway. Also seems like most people only have the fault once in a while. I have the fault warning every time I start the code. I can press the "check" button on the steering column and it disappears. Guess I'm gonna have to take it in to be diagnosed when I get free money and time together.

How can I tell if my car has BT or not? My communications section in iDrive really only has but one option, so it's pretty useless, but I can't help wonder if it's cause a module that is dead and not providing me with more options...

Seeing that you have 2004, even if the TCU does have BT, you will need software coding to have it turn on anyway.

my 05 e60 doesnt have the sos call antenna. i broke it while wrapping my roof. fml.
however my bluetooth work fine and i can still make calls off my iphone without touching my phone. is this weird?

-If i buy another sos call antenna and just plug it in and slap in under the shark fin will it work or need coding? anyone know?

You can do that but you can also get a magnetic fakra antenna and plug it in the TCU and just mount it under your qtr panel. This is what I did because I used the shark fin for my navigation. i am not sure how much space yo would have under the shark fin to mount the new antenna. They are about a 1/2 thick by 1.5 - 2" square.
