I'm about to buy a 2003 530i and I had a question about the vehicle check. I was wondering since the computer tells you when to replace something through BMW, is it possible to clear the message myself or do I have to go to BMW? I don't need to go and have BMW change my oil and stuff like that.

yes you can reset matters like oil, filter, brake change, etc on your own, just search by RESETING OIL CHANGE.... you will find it.... but for error msgs which are permanent say you have a faulty Air bag sensor, it will stay on until its fixed and updated by dealer.
