Has anyone noted that if you hold down the gas pedal for more than 30 seconds, say a minute the trick will not work. I noticed this after some playing around and many times i would hold down the pedal for a minute or 40 seconds just to make sure I got it right.

What i noticed was the transmission reset did not occur, but when i held the pedal for less than or equal to 30 seconds the transmission did in fact reset. Thought id share this little discovery.

For a long time I would put the car in drive (D) , turn off with gear in (D), turn the key 1 hold for 25-30 seconds and you can hear a low rumble when turn key.

For some reason I would feel my active steering more responsive I think I was going crazy.

Well it was easy for me to tell. Because I did this on my fathers car and when in DS mode he's car would force a shift at 3k in first gear. It worked when the car drove smooth and no more forcing a shift.

Do a search for tranny reset and you'll find it.

Forgot to mention, i had tried to do the transmission reset and held the pedal for about a minute and there was no difference, still shifted hard. Tried again about 30 secs and it worked like a charm.
