My idrive is still on version 12.x. I finally scheduled my car for the CIP software upgrade in mid March to take care of emissions recall DME reporgram. I've been holding out for newer features and Active Steering / steptronic software improvements

Are there any news on when BMW will come out with MP3 support and RDS (e60 with Navigation)? I'm also going to try to get my dealer to perform bluetooth upgrade (built Feb 27, 2004).

Nothing new yet on MP3 or RDS for those with Navigation. As for the BT, you are technically on the wrong side of the cutoff date, so I don't know if you can get the BT without a new TCU modual. That being said, maybe you'll get lucky w/ the emission recall which invloves a complete software upgrade. That's what got me up to 15.0 from the 11.x that my Jan 04 production car came with. Some have reported that the dealer has problems getting the new software to work on the old TCU, so they got a new TCU out of the deal. That's about the only way pre-March 2004 cars can get the BT. Unless you want to pay for the new TCU yourself.

I know my situation on bluetooth retrofit. My car has a built date of Feb 27, 2004 , but the door sticker shows March 2004. The part number on the telematic TCU shows the older number of 84 11 6 942 592. I will try to deal with my SA or shop foreman on the TCU replacement. There are several ways to the solution, but they may not be easy. For me, it doesn't hurt to ask or try.

Your right, never hurts to ask. Good luck! I got 15.0 back in the first week on January and others have since reported getting 15.2. When I posted about getting 15.0, several west coast members reported they were still getting 13.x. Either way, w/ Nav, RDS is still a no go. Still waiting for Iceman to come through with the word on MP3!

I hope future software upgrade will allow these features.

1. Give me a setting to turn off Active Steering in idrive. The disable setting should make the turn to turn ratio fixed and prevent active steering from counter steering on uneven roads or cross wind.
2. MP3, RDS.
3. No lawer screen, if I sign a paper waiver.
4. Be able to adjust the 3 click turn signal to more clicks.
5. 3D bird's eye view in Nav.
6. incremental patch update instead of full reload of software.
7. Patch update via BMW assist.
