By the way, I would stop to disturb You if I would not have such a hurry to wait Super Fast Ferries Ship i n Rostock. It was 1 and half hours late. C o l d to wait even with all the heaters.

As an interesting FYI -- when M-B introduced the S-class in MY2000 (their first car with COMAND), the radio stayed off if you turned it off. After a software "update," the radio started acting the way the current E60 does. It turned on every time you started the car. A later update fixed it back to the way it was -- on if you left it on, off if you left it off. Now matter how you slice it, that's the way BMW needs to make our cars work (and most likely will someday, I imagine)...

Speaking with BMWNA today, for what it's worth, they told me their database shows the auto on radio bug is being worked on by engineers, and that they "are waiting for a concept change"...
now, for those who want to know what that means :
I have no freakin idea!
However, I will venture to guess it means perhaps when 3d NAV comes, or a major software upgrade.. not bug fixes. Obviosuly it isn't as simple as a bug fix.

It seems to me that after about 5 minutes the car goes to sleep. Some of the settings are lost after that. I like to keep my A/C off and radio off, when I start my car. I also like to keep Nav screen with Map facing North on the left pane, direction on the right pane. The car doesn't remember that too.
