Software update part 47685

My Ride: E60 2006 525d Steptronic, Carbon Black, M Sport-Package, Style 135M Rims, Beige Interior, Dark Poplar Wood Trim, Comfort Seats, Professional Navigation with BMW Online and BMW Assist, HUD, Logic7, TV, Bluetooth, Speech Control, Active Steering, Adaptive Bi-Xenon, 6-Disc Changer, Heated Seats (front and back), Extended Climate, PDC, Sunroof, Auto-Dim. Int + Folding Exterior Mirrors, Electric Rear- and Side Blinds, Foldable rear seats, Electric Adjustable Steering Wheel
Software update questions again and again.... 
Okay, I'll make it short. Our E60 was at the dealer the day before yesterday. They replaced the micro-filter and the brake fluid. And my dad asked them if they could accomplish the f***ing software update.... Now they told him another story...
They asked if we had any problems with the software - the answer was "no" - and said they would need a permission from BMW M?nchen for accomplishing a software update on any car.... 
As my dad told me that I thougth "WTF?!" because I've read all the stories here in this forum having no problems.
What to do now? Telling them something so that they do it without needing that stupid permission or having it done by another dealer?
I'm fed up with this Odyssey... I want that f***in' 3D-map!!!

If you want them to repogram your car a good one is that the CD carries on playing after you switch the engine off.
It's a known fault which BMW claims is corrected in later CIPS (but folk on here say actually isn't - but what the hell if you get your update)
Watch your eyebrows.
