I was just wondering if I get new software (CIP) reloaded do my E60 will it erase all my saved radio stations, delete address book from NAVI, setting of AC, entertainment settings, etc...
Anyone who had done it? What result?
Thanks

I think it depends on the version you are on and/or the dealer. Earlier versions of the software did not preserve the settings but I think, at the very least, the tech was supposed to write down and reprogram the radio presets.
I think I remember seeing somewhere that the newer versions of the software provide for some sort of backup restore to retain the settings. Anyone else know any more?

But what about the "memory key" function? Isn't all of the personal setting saved in the key?
I noticed that when I start the car with one key I get certain radio stations saved, when I use the other one I get different stations.
Anybody realized this?

[/quote]Oh, good point Iceman. That makes sense.
BTW: Do you know some good place in Munchen where to go or specificly not to go with my BMW for tuning. And also a good BMW dealer to get the newest soft. I come from Prague and I do not believe those guys here with getting new soft (more bad then good)
