BMW (France) told me they are expecting a MAJOR CIP version (19.0) to be released in Europe Mid-September that should fix ALL bugs (!) and provide MP3 for NAV.

I don't have any list of fixes nor the list of new bugs that will be generated.

They told me it should fix at least amber LEDs issue, TMC (traffic info), transmission problems (steptronic), headlight sensor issues, Bluetooth with new mobiles ...

Wait and see

Software - Without Bugs - That has to be an Oxymoron !

I work in the SW industry and one thing is for Sure,

MAJOR Release ==> New functionality & Lots of New Bugs

I hope that they do some serious testing of this version before they test it on us poor owners.

That should be the big September update that has been mentioned since early this year, and the one that has prommised full capabilities for E90 owners aswell

18.0 will still be released in the mean time ( not shure if there is anything for the E60 on that )

Just took my 530d touring after 17.1 update, all well known bugs are present. The dealer told me that 19.0 will be available by end of August and should fix all major bugs.

What about max 13 updates??????????????????

Well, I'm waiting eagerly the new software release. In any case, having just updated my software to cip 17.1, I can say that my TMC is working, my LED the same, my Steptronic improved in smoothness and all communication system is working very well.
Also, the booting time is shorter now and that the I-drive system is quicker in accepting instructions and with less mistakes. For me, a big improvement.

And the new perspective navigation software is great, far superior to the old 2D version and more user-friendly with all the software buttons easily reachable.

Quick Reply: Software 19.0 coming soon
