Anyone think this might have something to do with the door seals? An attempt to "go with something that works"? Does the 7-series have the door seal issues the E60 cars do?

Good for handicapped folks, and those with limited physical abilities, but would not want them for any other purpose.

Soft close doors and trunk are some of the features I miss from my old 7-er.

Never thought that cuz I always thought it was superfluous extras (that came as standard options with the car), but after living with it for 3 years, I actually miss it.

Also miss the doors on the 7-er that would stay in place in any position, no matter how wide or narrow u open the door.

have it as standard in my 730, love it. if you like to hear the slam sound, just slam it and it will sound like a normal door.

I don't know about that. It depends on how expensive they are and just the thought that i add another gadget that can go wrong, hmmm! It would be usefull indeed when you don't slam the door well enough and u try to walk away locking the car and the car doesn't lock. u have to go back then and slam the door.
And yeah the sound is quite nice. How about the impact on door seals?

I guess it's cool just in case you don't close your door all the way accidentally. I love the sould of the door closing. The door sounds so solid when closing.
