Doesn't BMW recommend the oil change interval is around 18-20 K? (or its 15K?), in that case I am not surprised the engine would last for more than 150K.
Our car was completely serviced before we purchased. The system said the oil is good for another 15,000 miles. I thought that was insane- but, this is my first Bimmer- so not sure what to expect.

I'll probably do a synthetic blend like I used to have done on my Acura.

We keep getting a "Right rear turn signal Malfunction". But, it's sporadic. The buld has been changed, but it's still doing it- so it's apparently something more serious than the bulb.

58,000 miles (94,000 km)
Problems:
Engine died recently (fixed now) - overheating led to a cracked head (dealer dropped a piece of plastic in between fan and rad, preventing the fan from kicking-in, car overheated in traffic)... any other problem pales in comparison

My Ride: 2011 550i AW - every option
Default

1) 04 545i 6MT
2) Current ODO reading at 111xxx Miles
3) Vehicle purchased in 2007 @ 50k
4) Problems:
- alternator + battery (2 times). Once it fried because I didnt do the battery correctly. Second time was dealer's fault.
- Left lower control arm due to our amazing Michigan roads
- steering wheel tilt noise. Went away on its own after two seasons
- radiator o-ring leak. cheap and easy fix.
- cracked 124's. Annoying.

All maintenance performed by one dealer even prior to my ownership. Car was under warranty & mnt package until 100k.
I love this car to death. I plan on getting at least 200k + out of this machine.

06 525i CPO with 42000 in 09/2008. Now has 55000.
No mods. No problems at all since I've had it. Original owner had regular service. I will too, but will do mid-term oil changes at 7500mi. 15k between oil changes is just WRONG! I brought it into the dealer last month for the mid-term, and the SA looked at me funny and tried to talk me out of it!

I also have a '86 325 E30 with the M20 2.7l, 5spd manual. I drive it 60mi round trip almost daily. It has 292000mi on the clock, but the speedo was actually out of commission for an estimated 3k. Last year I paid $1700 to have the AC put right, plus a $1500 for some high-mileage work. (t-belt, CA bushings, water pump, rear seal and flex disk) I recently had to replace a relay, as the fuel pump in the tank wasn't working. Just didn't want to start in the cold. All of the hoses have been upgraded, but the wiring is still all original. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

BTW, I use Zaino. Love it!

'06 550, 43K miles

Slightly off-topic, but my mother-in-law sold her 1988 735 (purchased new) last year with over 450K miles. Was still a fun car to drive.

my car is a 2004 . I purchased it for 31k with 44 thousand miles. Today I have 104 thousand miles and ran into it's first problem. Still enjoy driving the car but I have my sights set on the new M3. This car is paid off and don't know if I should sell it and have a loss of 10 grand plus.
