You can put non-staggered winter wheels/tires on a car that has a staggered summer set-up...Is that what you mean?

Yes. The rear wheel footprint will still be a little wider in the back due to the wheel width. There is a chance you may not like the look of the rear wheels since the wheel lip can stick out a tad - less sidewall.

that's what i did with my CLK55. didnt really look much of a difference. i guess i am using my stock 18s for snow tires. those stock BBS do look really nice. prolly get the breytons for summer but i just dont like the idea of spacers.....

I had them on my A3 last winter they were a fantastic tyre with loads of grip, I didnt use them in deep snow but they were used in light snow and on icy roads.

Guys:

It's getting cooler here in the US and was thinking about the winter. I need to get me a set of snow tires for the MI winter and was wondering what the reccs from you guys were. I have the OEM 17" factory rims and am not planning on changing rims or rim size for the winter....

Any advice/help would be appreciated!

A fellow Michigander... I think that the Dunlop Sport M3's are definitely the tire to have for the MI winters. I have 2 friends that use this setup and swear by it. The Blizzaks are a good second option.

RiRacing:
Are the Nokian tires you mentioned for nordic winters non-studded? Can't use studded tires in Michigan (at least not that I know of).
