Ha ha. Sounds like me. The twisties on our meets and my socially responsible driving habits killed me rear OEM summer Contis in 12K miles. I am dying to see how long my rear Hankook Ventus V12 Evos last. But I will be swapping them out in the next week or two for my winter shoes -- Dunlop WinterSport M3s on OEM 123 wheels.

I couldn't get the WinterSport M3's to fit my OEM wheels. They don't sell them in the tire sizes I need. Hopefully the Contis will be okay.

I assume that you also had no luck with the D3s.

Yep, no luck with those as well. I hope the ContiExtremeContact DWS work well. I had Conti's previous model, the ContiExtremeContact on a different car a few years ago (an Audi S6) and I loved them. So, I am hoping that this new DWS model is even better.

Best of luck with them. I've never had a set of Contis that I didn't like. I liked the OEM summer Contis very much (other than their short tread life which was a product of my driving style).

Thanks ALL for your advice and assistance. I ended up purchasing the Continental ExtremeContact DWS (2 x 245/40R18 and 2 x 275/35R18) today from Tire Rack.
Cool! Let us know what you think. I almost pulled the trigger on a set but ended up getting a steal on a set of brand new Pirelli P Zero Nero M/S's ($100 each) from a guy at work. Not my #1 choice, but so far they seem decent. I'll probably end up going with the DWS's once the Pirelli's are gone or start to get too noisy.
