Good info as well. I am a little confused now. We only have a few icy/snowy days in the Baltimore. The Winter tires (the Blizzak LM-60) are on backorder now at Tire Rack (until Nov 9) and cost $866.

The Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position (ultra high performance all-season) are available now on Tirerack for $764.

Since we have onluy a few icy / snowy days here in Baltimore, I might go with the all seasons. (IF I were living in MN or Vermont...I would definitely get the snow tires.)

Thoughts?
If snow was a major and frequent problem where I lived I would get real snows or a different car.

Thanks. I checked Tire Rack--they don't carry that tire in my size.
Try the Dunlop WinterSport D3. It is the successor to the M3.

I have a Scandinavian brand which are really good. Gislaved Nordifrost 5. They are new, you can get good deals on them if you look around.

Thanks ALL for your advice and assistance. I ended up purchasing the Continental ExtremeContact DWS (2 x 245/40R18 and 2 x 275/35R18) today from Tire Rack.

I'm from Maryland also and have been running Dunlop Winter Sport the last couple years. However, I realize that it doesn't snow much here so this year I went with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus. Great tires, I highly recommend it.

Ha ha. Sounds like me. The twisties on our meets and my socially responsible driving habits killed me rear OEM summer Contis in 12K miles. I am dying to see how long my rear Hankook Ventus V12 Evos last. But I will be swapping them out in the next week or two for my winter shoes -- Dunlop WinterSport M3s on OEM 123 wheels.
