Have you had the car in yet for the latest CIP software (24.02, as I understand)? If so, did it fix the tranny slam?

I'm going crazy trying to convince my dealer that the software update could fix my issue, but I got the "adaptive transmission" BS and was told to drive it a few more days. The worst part is that I made it ABUNDANTLY CLEAR that this was a known issue in these cars and to make absolutely sure that the Service guys update the CIP BEFORE I took delivery last week. Naturally, it wasn't done and now I want to be sure it fixes the problem before I proceed to tear some tech a new one.
Yeap I got 24.02 update and they put in some brake fuild and it fixed it.. now braking is smoooth as silk
You should definitely get 24.02 update to improve braking.

They have called me twice and are still gathering data from my dealer. Will keep you posted.

I haven't experienced the tranny slam, but the stutter stops are driving me CRAZY. I have the latest CIP software but I still can't come to a smooth "luxury car" stop. The car stutters right before stopping, and then "jerks" into the stop. My old F-150 had smoother stops than I can coax out of this thing. Very frustrating.

BMWing, did you ever get any love from BMW NA?

My 03 build 545 is having the same problem on braking. Wildcat, if your problem is anything like mine, its a pain in the a*se.
As people have posted, its as if the car is draging forward on the brakes and the the revs drop and this causes the stutter. Its very noticable to me and my passengers (They think that you are braking too late and then having to brake harder.)

I also have the unsmooth tickover at 500rpm - feels like a slight misfire or damaged engine mount.

Doe anyone elso know what Progman BMW are now up to in the UK?

I want to bring that post back to see if anyone has found a CIP that fixes the problem. BMWNA did try to contact me but they were trying on a old phone number and eventually gave up I guess.

I complained about the same thing on my 2006 550i, my first bimmer so wasn't sure this is just the way it is.

They upgraded 26.1.1 and said it should fix it, and it is a little better, but still for the most part, its' impossible to do a smooth stop. Always a jolting stop at a light. Makes me look like a bad driver with passengers in it...
