smoke coming out the grill in traffic when its raining

Got a good panic on this morning as I has a bit of smoke coming out from the front of the car while it was raining and I was sitting in traffic! Thought the car was starting to overheat but it wasn't, just rain dropping onto the hot metal parts and evaporating. Anyone else noticed this on beemers?

Oh, and its totally normal - there've been thread on this before. Unless its like heavy black smoke, you're just seeing the steam from the temp difference - BMW engines run hot and rain tends to be cool, so when it gets into the grilles and mixes with the hot air, you get steam...

This happened to me on Tuesday when we had all that crazy rain. This guy pulls up to me beeping his horn waving his arms so i lower the window thinking he needed help instead he starts yelling at me that something is wrong with my car and what is wrong with me that I continue to drive it with "smoke" coming out the front and that I shouldn't be driving a nice car if I'm not taking car of it... I was like its steam and put my window back up.... haha
