Please keep us updated on what happens on Monday. As you can see I have a huge interest on what happens to your car and what the error message indicates... Thanks!

I think there never was a problem... Remember... It's based on windows!
I've had a couple strange error messages once, turned off the car and waited for 10 minutes, restarted it and everything was fine...

Wow Jochen, 8/04 build and still weird problems. How may miles on your car? I have around 3K and no problems with my SMG or anything else major.

Good luck getting yours fixed.

I called my dealer today to inquire about the staus of my transmission failure nightmare (they never called me...).

The service "advisor" told me that there is a service bulletin from BMW regarding a software update, which they supposedly are performing right now. My car is 8/04 built, does anybody know anything about this service bulletin?

I asked him if they were installing version 14, but he couldn't tell me ! He also said that they would look into the transmission issue AFTER the software update.

He told me it would take them at least another 2 days to get the car ready.

Btw., my car has 1200 miles on it...

Jochen

Hang in there, drjochen.

I had to have my steering rack replaced after having the car for about 10 days. It took 8 or 9 days to have it fixed. Luckilly that is the only major issue that I've had to date. It was irritating, but once you get your car back, you'll fall in love all over again.

You guys should come over to the M3 board to see the problems we have with those horrible cars. I have an X5 with only one problem in 2 years but my M3 has been in the shop 15+ times for all different things. When I get the 545 if it goes back to the shop right away, i wont be shocked.
