My Ride: 2004 Silver Gray 545i, Sport, Navigation, Steptronic, PDC, Windowshade, Bluetooth Paired with Treo 650, Huper Optik tint, Euro reflectors, Poplar Wood Gear Shift, Poplar Wood Console Cover
My neighbor is about to order his first BMW and take it on ED. (I guess he finally got tired of me beating his Chrysler 300C) 
ANyway, he is struggling with the SMG option of rather or not he should get it. Would those of you who have it buy it again?
P.S. JDN we finally made a convert out of him

I don't like the non-M SMG gearboxes -- i.e., those found in the Z4 and E60. The shifts are too slow and jerky.
On the M3, it's freaking fabulous.
Not only would I get it again, but I wouldn't get an M car without it.

I have a question for you though...
Any chance you can tell us more about you spanking his Hemi? I would've thought the two cars would be pretty close in performance. What mods did he have?
