I use normal mode, manual shift. I just like the smoothness better. I also moderate my pedal pressure to help smooth out the shifts.

I shift with the stick most of the time, but do vary with the paddles at times.

I have had no transmission problems.

I've got over 30K miles and use the Sport mode exclusively. I vary between the paddles, shifter and letting it shift itself (usually it is an odd combination of the three - don't ask ).? I have used AA on several occasions at this point.? I've had NO issues with my tranny.? FWIW, My car was one of the first SMG's (along with Rudy & JDN).

Mine is 8 days older than Rudys, but I have a brand new transmission (or maybe a rebuilt one)

You've just had hard luck, pennetta. Rudy, realty, and I are all in the same generation as you with no significant problems. My problem of getting in neutral appears to have been fixed with ver 18 -- knocking on wood as I type.

Sport Mode (wish there was a way to have that be the default so you don't have to hit the button every time!) and shift myself, almost always using the paddles. I like the faster shifts in Sport Mode, and can time the slight lift on the gas better for smoother shifts

Interesting that V.18 may take care of the Neutral issue.
I occassionally get that also.

I'm not sure it will, realty, but I have had about ten problem free days now and counting.
