[quote name='rodybmw' date='Sep 18 2005, 10:15 PM']However, whenever I have tried this I have felt that it accelerates faster sometimes, yet it feels slower at other times.? So now I just leave the DSC/DTC on and put it in sport mode.

Thats what I've been kinda trying to say... the acceleration is like ummm unstable... oh wait... i said the shifting times... Well maybe acceleration too...

Yeah....I do notice that the shifting times do vary a bit, even when within the same mode. I always drive in sport mode, yet sometimes it shifts "really fast" and other times it takes twice as long as "really fast" .

I'm still experimenting but it seems to me that the increased throttle response seems to occur around 3000 RPM...

I'll have to dust the cobwebs off of my G-timer thing and see if I can get anything that I can quantify.

Hey the SMG Acceleration Assist launches at 4000 RPMs right? If so Coool same as the M5 for the US... but in Europe it launches at 4500 Rpms but thats ok.

Heres for the real question... for those of you that have used Acceleration Assist is there a cool down period? Like once you use it you have to wait 7 mins before using it again or drive 4km before using it again?

Has anyone bother to try to use AA 2 times in a row to test?

Why I ask?

I made my run yesterday and while I thoroughly enjoyed it, I'm not sure the others in traffic were as thrilled. I really can't say that there was any noticeable difference. It's a pretty hot machine anyway. I'll play some more and see if there's something I'm missing.

The first time that I tried it is drove for about 2 minutes. I was at a stop sign, I hammered it again and AA kicked in again (without going through the sequesnce).

So I guess that answers your question.

But how far did you travel in that 2 mins before using AA again? Lets see... at 150mph for 2 mins you covered... 5 miles!!! thats more than the 4km cool off period that the M5 LC needs...

Has anyone tried this combination using the Auto mode?
That's where I notice the quicker shifts the most.

Oooops. I forgot. I'm the only living soul that uses the Auto Mode on an SMG E60.
