SMG in auto?

My Ride: 04 545 SMG
Black Out
I decided to give the auto mode in my 545 and was a little disappointed. It seemed to shift like a drunk fish! The timing was terrible and had me in 4 at 40 mph. Good thing I love the manual mode.

its 10x better if you put it in sport mode then drive in auto....but yea...the software they have executing the shifts sucks...my friend has that trans in an 04....she went to the stealership and had them update the software...the shift patterns got a lot better...

Might have to do that soon. Trying software update first. It will drop past 1 into N when slowing down or drop on acceleration into neutral

have any of u think about tuning the smg? a bunch of the e46 m3 guys have done it. i know all the hpf e46s with smg have done it to accommodate for the slow shift times

yeah from my experience NEVER take the car to the dealer if you need your clutch replaced. They tried to convince me to change the rest of the SMG parts because supposedly they were failing one by one, until i decided to remove the car from there and take it to an indy shop(motorcepts) and all i needed was a new clutch and flywheel.. payed around $2500 for it
