It "bangs" pretty hard.
I tought it would be more obvious & audible in the vid but it's not.
Let's just say I've only tried it a few times and wouldn't recommend doing it on a regular basis (unless it's not your car ).

AA is just like "dumping the clutch" at 4000 RPM.

Exactly, although it shifts just as hard going through the gears.

Another interesting observation is that it stays in that "mode" for a while. Several miles later I downshifted a couple of gears and it hit just as hard and continued to speed shift the gears again. Woooooo Hoooo!
Now I just need to figure out if it is possible to get those kind of shifts without having to go through the 4K clutch dump.

Assuming you have an SMG car, push and hold the DTC button for more than three seconds. Left foot on brake, right foot depressing the accelerator to the floor- take left foot off brake and WWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeee........!!!

IIRC, aren't you supposed to be in D1?

No, you don't need to be (shouldn't be) in D1 but you need to be in Sport mode, I think. No need to mess with the brake either -- the key is to mash your foot down hard and keep in planted against the kickdown switch.

Disabling DTC/DSC first, then engaging Sport then mashing the throttle is the trick.
Brake has nothing to do with it. Could that be why you are having SMG tranny issues?? My suspicion is that brake-torquing ans SMG is VERY bad - it is not like an automatic.

I think you are right. Barke would be very bad... I think there may be some confusion between AA and Launch pad in the M cars. AA is just de-activating traction control and DSC and mashing the gas.

Launch pad mode (a la the new M5) lets you hold the paddle forward, mash the gas and then the car actually GOES when you release the paddle - ITS A HOOT....
