Slight hesitation at 1500 rpm

As above, my 525d has developed a slight hesitation at around 1500 rpm. The car was re-mapped by Simon at E-maps about 7 months ago and has been fine. This problem has only started in the past few weeks. Any ideas?

Had a 520d that did this from new, had a software update and no improvement in the end re-calibration of the injectors sorted it out.

The car was reg'd in Jan 05 and is currently on 88000 miles but has had FBMWSH. The hesitation happens on light and heavy throttle and is generally more prevalent when the car has warmed up. I will add that I don't do particularly long journeys with the majority of trips being less than 15 miles. I have always used the highest octane diesel that Total sell and I'm very sensible at driving always keeping well below 3k until the car is warm

In the first instance I would let the car warm up and then drive it hard, take it round to maximum revs a few times. I always use shell fuel so maybe try some shell v-power diesel. The only other thing I can think of is a failing MAF (Air flow meter) which at 88000 miles may start to become suspect.

Just thinking, maybe the crankcase breather needs replacing and / or the EGR valve needs cleaning.
