Slight Clunking/Grinding Noise Coming from Front?
I just noticed a slight grinding/clunking noise that sounds like it's coming from the front of the car, I can only hear it at idle or very low accleration, basically around 500-1000 RPM range or so, after that it goes away, any idea what it is?

It's really hard to hear it from the inside in the video unless you turn your speakers ALL the way up, but I caught it pretty clearly from the engine bay.

Yeah man strange, no idea what is making that noise, keep us posted if you figure it out. If you find out it's a DIY fix then great, if not take it to an independent repair shop BMW charges ridiculous rates for labor.

Sorry didn't see this. Well as far as it being a center support, u-joint, flexdisc, guibo etc... the noise is present while he is not moving. Therefore no driveshaft or related components are going to be culprit. If it only happens at a certain RPM while stationary, It could be lifters, VANOS, DISA, or even a belt pulley bearing. All of these will change when your RPMs change. Get under the hood while car is running and pinpoint the area and you'll most likely find your issue.

I got back from my local BMW dealership, they say it's the VANOS system, but I don't think their right, also, noticed that the sound pretty much goes completely away when the A/C is on, so looks like it's probably a tensioner or pulley like you guys said, I'll check it out completely this weekend.
