My understanding is that being able to do so is a function of software. I doubt your car has the required software, but ...? In any case, eventually, I think a software update will do the trick for many (all?) of us (Edit) in at least the US.

well first of all... where are you located? and do you have any sort of Navigation system?

If you are in the US and have Navigation then NO you currently cant play MP3s yet.

If you are in the US and dont have Nav then you can play MP3s if you get your software upgraded to the newest version.

If you are in Europe and have Business Nav then you can play MP3s if you get your software upgraded to the newest version...

If you are in Europ and have Professional Nav then....

OR if you know which Radio system you have Business Radio or Professional Radio... Given its a MY06 march Build you should have Prof Radio...

SEE it would be a lot more helpful if you list you location and car spec. At least list the country you're in. Then you can get a better answer if you provide more info.

COOL!

You have Professional Radio which will be able to play MP3s in no time... Very very soon... if I remember correctly software release in Nov?

You'll know you have Professional Radio because you have NAV. U.S. cars only get Professiona NAV which consists of Prof Radio.

BUT since March 2005 build cars all US E60s are getting Professional Radio anyways reguardless of NAV system or not. Before then... only NAV equipped cars had Prof Radio.

If you didnt have NAV a software update now will allow you to play MP3s already.

Hope this helps.
