Nice addition MTRHEAD I was just searching the forum for info about my latest issue (auto-close function not working for drivers window - anti-trap function active) and found this post. The "reset" worked as described. This is a great place!

do you know which window is having the problem?
you can tell by rolling them down one by one. The one that is faulty will stop every 2 inches roughly when you press the button all the way.
Turn off the ignition; open and close the door with the faulty window.
Turn on again see the fault goes away.
This happened to me a few times every once a long while and always has been rear right window. Mositure from rain or so could be the culprit of my problem.
So far mine is not a sticky problem yet.

cheers

The is a fix for this.

If your vehicle is before 04/2004 build then the window guide and motor for the affected window needs to be replaced.

If you your vehicles built after 04/2004 the only the motor needs to be replaced in the affected window.

Hope this helps everyone.

Zag,

I have the same problem on the same window (right rear) since the car was delivered. It happened once in a blue moon. And I would go straight to that window everytime the message and audible warning comes up.

I was told that we could reset the fault by lowering the window all the way (may stop every 3 -4 inches) and bring it up; hold the button for 3-4 seconds after the last lap and the error is resetted.

May want to have rails/motor/gear changed before warranty is up!

This is correct.....Last week while the rear right window was rolling up someone touched it accidently and it stopped and I got a picture of a window and an exclamation mark on the dash. Since then every time I started the car I saw this symbol as well as the messege that the anti-trap function was inactive. The window would also only roll up and down 2 inches at a time. I rolled it down and then back up again 2 inches at a time and held the switch in the up position for 5 to 10 seconds and then let go. The fault was reset and the window works just fine now. If anyone is having this problem try this and see if it fixes the problem.
