Side rails making a noise
Guys,
I had my 07' OEM 550i side rails switched out for 07' OEM M5 rails. They only clip on, not screw. When the body of the car flexes (goes over a bump or turns) at low speads, you can hear a creaking noise like walking on an old wood floor in an old house. Sounds like a friction noise. Has anyone ever experienced this? We are at a loss, the body shop that installed it has loosened them and retightened them. The fit is perfect OEM, but the noise persists. Any ideas?

What rails are you talking about? Do you mean door seals?

Maybe not the door seals...I opened the pdf that you sent...not those. I'm talking about the color matched plastic side panels running down the side of the car under the door.

You need to photograph the area and point to it so that an exact diagnosis of the problem can be determined.

Are the original clips still being used? May need to replace them with brand new ones for a "tighter fit".
