I'm a fairly decent driver, but have not tested my limits on previous vehicles. I will be driving 30km/18mi each way on highway everday to commute to work. But, I do have the opportunity to take the commuter train (2 minutes from my home) on winter days that are challenging. Generally, it snows heavily 5 to 10 times in the winter. There are icy days. But most days are just very cold, flurries and generally blahhh...
I suppose we have about the same shitty climate.

The 530xi consumes a bit of more gas but on the blizzard days it'll give you the edge.
Buy the best 17" wintertyres you can, not the lousy mid european (US) ones.

The 530(x)i is a fast enough E60 and gives you the smoothness of an R6.

But most important, wait for the (EU and German) MY '08.

Be sure to order a October built car!!!

The 3 litre gas engine could well be updated to a cleaner and more effective 275 hp / 315 Nm engine.

PS. The German Kw/Nm race is now at its peak. The 275 hp engine is in my meaning a
small update to the existing N52B30 engine (propably coded as N52B30TU).
The N54 engine family will come to the facelift.
Both N52 and N54 are six-in-line gas engines.

PPS. Note that the E60 facelift will come in Sept/Oct '07!

Please confirm my friends,
Is it possible to order an October build right now? or are we going to have to wait a month or two. If I am not mistaken, the facelift will happen this September, 2006?
