I would think that this should have been at no charge as well. There is a schedule for the servicing of the brake fluid as mine was just changed at 49.0000 free. Not sure what CPO covers but being under 50 I would think one could say that something was wrong with the fluid and that is why it was causing the noise and why they determined it needed to be replaced. Everyday it's clearer to me why they are called Stealerships!

My original 4 year warranty was due to expire April 30, 2011 so I took the car in on April 20th with a laundry list of small things. The brake fluid flush and change was done under warranty.
My only costs were for a 55 point check (at my request) to see if there were any odd ball things happening and new wiper blades (also at my request).
They also took care of the HPFP recall and the software reprogramming recall.

How the hell does a brake flush address the problem of brake noise anyway, or am I missing something here?

Not sure if it should be covered but shouldn't the dealer at least check with you for your authorization prior to doing any work that will cost?
Brake fluid flush (every two years) is covered under the BMW new car maintenance agreement for 4 years / 50K miles. I have the BMW extended maintenance agreement and all scheduled maintenance as indicated by iDrive is covered - right down to the windshield wipers for 4+2 (6) years and 50K + 50K miles.
If you've over the 50K mile point you're on your own - UNLESS for some reason the car was not maintained according to the contract by the previous owner. If that were the case the CPO process should have ensured that all undone services were completed BEFORE you took delivery.
Something sounds fishy here ... were you not provided with complete maintenance and warranty paperwork/records when you stepped into this deal? I'm really surprised at the number of uninformed consumers and dealers who would take advantage of them ... actually not surprised ... SHOCKED is a better word.
For the OP - that said, you'll get educated real quick here ... suck in the information like a sponge! Driving and owning BMWs can be a great expereince in more ways than (only) on the road

My car got every little tiny thing done for free. They even did the wiper blades free. I got new brakes and rotors, free. Oil change, free. Fuild refills, free.
