Do NOT buy an E60 without a warranty.

Find one with an extended warranty or get a CPO. It is worth the extra money.

I need to chill out, I'm going crazy here, I think I'll wait and search for a CPO one, I'm still wondering if the factory warranty applies to the car since it only has 18K, can someone please verify this?

Thx again guys, great community!

Org. warranty is 4 years/50,000 miles whatever comes first from date put in service. So there maybe a few months left on it and maybe not. Price isn't bad. But I think I'd look around for a CPO to be on the safe side. Otherwise do a search on here for extended warranties. It's not so much that these cars are problematic its that when they do have an issue they can be costly to repair. Usually one mechanical issue the warranty is paid for. You can search for CPO right through bmwusa.com website though I'm not sure how often its updated. Just check your local BMW dealers with in driving distance and usually there website will list there used cars and if there CPO.

Good luck in your search. These are wonderful cars.

Hi,

I'm new here, but not new to Bimmers I currently own a e39 (99 528i) and I LOVE IT

but its time for an upgrade and I've doing some shopping, and found 2004 BMW 530i SMG asking price $26,900 the car has 18K

is this a good deal...?

any advice on these SMG tranny?

PLEASE get a CPO! You might be saving money now with the purchase but I promise you that in the long run you will PAY MORE without the CPO.

Just my two cents. (and the fact that my 2004 has been to the dealer 7 times in 9 months)

I had my auto transmission replaced. Luckily I had my warranty. My E60 has had more problems than any car I have ever owned, but I still love the car.
