oh well, i am feeling pretty frustrated now. I called the BMW Canada this morning talked to a guy on the phone, he put me on hold for like 20 min, then he said he has to call me back, since he needs to talk to the dealer directly. So I waited the whole day and got no phone call. I called in again, got to that guy's voice mail , left message, didnt get a return phone call so far....

i just wrote to BMW AG, which I believe is their main office, complain my case, hope that works.

and for filing to BBB, does that really works?
i just talked to BMW of NA, and the girl told me that she cant gurantee the battery for free or diagnostice for free, but she recommand to bring the car to dealship, and she can call the dealer directly, see what can be work out

too bad i have saturday appointment, and BMW of NA not open on saturday, so if BMW of Bloomfield charge me then i will have to wait until monday to call BMW of NA

well ok, i mean its a battery so if your dealership, or bmw corporate cant get their act together, just buy a similar battery from an autostore and install it yourself

there is no "coding" or "registering" the battery with the car.

There is a positive and negative terminal, thats it.

The rest is euro fluff

my father has a porsche 911 4s and they try the same shit with tires and coolant etc

They should replace it free of charge. I finally got my car back yesterday and they replaced the battery free of charge. I also read in this forum that you can make your in-dash cd player MP3 CD compatible so I really pushed for that and guess what!? A service advisor called me this morning and told me they do it for free under warranty!!!

At first they were saying they wouldn't replace the battery without charging us $480 so we asked to speak with the service manager and he cleared things up for us. He is also the one who told the service advisors that they should retrofit the car with the MP3 CD compatibility free of charge as well. Just don't bother wasting your time talking to the people who aren't in charge. Go straight to the man in charge and he'll get things done for you. Oh and your car should obviously be under warranty.

fuck the dealer . do you have AAA? they will install a battery with a 6 year warranty for 177.00 usd.
and the dealer should only charger you 224.00 usd for a new batter. you can put it in yourself , it's really easy.

screw paying some guy 200 bucks to install it.
