Sorry to hear about that. Yeah, $1,200 does seem like a lot for ONE shock. But, I cant see why the CPO would not cover this. Good luck!

i'd suggest if you are able to drive the car, go pick it up and get a 2nd opinion at another dealership. Don't even mention the shocks - if in fact the shocks are leaking then they will let you know.

the car was in just for an oil change and I told the guy to check for any problems and becuase I had a clunk on my steering wheel, right know that he called I am kinda confused, because he is saying that the shock is leaking, I never had a problem like that before so now the question is, do you get some spills on the floor, because I dont have any signs on my garage of oil or nothing .

Hey Carlos,

I believe when the shock is leaking, you'll probably see it leaking out of the shock or strut body. When you get the car back, grab a flashlight and look at the "damaged" shock. Make sure you ask your SA to note on your ticket, which shock(s) are supposedly damaged/leaking.

I don't think you'll see the leaks on the floor, but simply on the shock/strut body. Get a second opinion as others have noted, but don't tell the shop about "shock issue".
