I recently moved to Bradenton, FL to work for the Pittsburgh Pirates at their training facility and I need to get my E60 down here at some point. I would prefer not to drive it 3,000 miles...

Anyone have any experience shipping a car across the country? Recommendations? Prices?

Thanks

John at motorcepts has experience with that ask him. I believe he has his M5 shipped from Texas to NY for $600-$800.

Make sure you use a enclosed trailer for shipping...Also try to have you car put on the top rack..If it has to be on the bottom, make sure they cover it...You don't want somebodies car dripping fluid on your paint over a long haul...Prices vary on the cost of diesel but I paid to have my car shipped to Ohio from Cali and back for $3g's...Make sure they have really good insurance and also make sure you video them putting the car on the truck...Go over the whole car with them to insure they don't scratch or dent your car...

I've used Intercity Lines twice over the past year and will continue to use them in the future. In May of last year I shipped a 1990 M3 from Texas to SF for $1,300 and two months ago I shipped a 2010 Range Rover Sport from Atlanta to SF for $2,100. Both costs are fully insured. While these are not across the entire country, it gives you a ballpark for pricing. It's definitely more expensive than others but they use an enclosed container and they're NOT an intermediary (like DAS) ... those were the most important criteria to me. Of the other enclosed transport guys I spoke to (like Horseless Carriage, etc), Intercity was middle of the pack in terms of pricing, I recall. Anyway, I got both cars in stellar condition and it was well worth the extra cost for the peace of mind. Hope that helps.

Thanks guys I'll check some of these companies out. The other option is to just buy a new car
