So everyone, the other day I drive my car all around town and when I get home I pull into my drive way. About 20 mins later I go to back out to get my G out of the garage and the car won't shift from park to reverse or drive or N. I get the car towed to BMW and of course its friday night so I am screwed until Monday. My car has 25k on it and it's still under warranty so it's all good but I want to know if this has happened to anyone else. My BMW guy says this is the first time he has seen this. I think thats bullshit. The new Shifter is cool but if it can fail like that for no reason its just plain old dumb.

Thoughts....

Yep, happened to me. Couldn't get it into reverse. Wiggled, into drive, back into park, after a bit it finally went into reverse. Fought with it for a week or so until the new shifter came in at the dealer. SM said it's only the second one he's replaced. Worked fine ever since.
