Shifter boot/clamp HELP
My shifter boot is wearing. There is now a small hole in it.
The hole is warn by the bolts on the clamp on the shift rod (part no 9 in the figure below).
My dealer says the clamp is on backwards. On my car the nuts on the clamp are on the back (face the back of the car). Apparently they are suppose to face forward.
There has never been any warranty work on the car on the shifter or transmission. I think it must have come from the factory like that, but the dealer says it has been taken apart at some time.
Can some one else with a manual check and see how it is on their car. You can feel the clamp through the boot.
Thanks in advance.
