Looks like Friday (tomorrow) should be the day... 
New hood was installed and painted and baked over the last two days. Car is supposed to be back at the dealer in the morning!
Today I spoke with the technician who prepped and test drove the car a few days ago. He knows me and my tastes quite well (and he always says he loves driving my SMG) and all he assured me I am going to love this new car!! He said as an automatic, it's just like any other new automatic -- you can't even feel the shifts. I asked him if he tried sport mode and he said he did and he raved about it. He said he had an ear-to-ear grin plastered on his face the entire time he test drove the car and just kept on telling me it's absolutely fabulous to drive! He pretty much guaranteed me that I'm going to enjoy this car as much or more than the SMG so let's hope he's right!
