I have the same dilemma. I have the black on black with chrome and like it most of the time, but at times I wonder if the shadowline looks better...guess you can put me down for the chrome look.

I have to agree with Stu of having a dilemma. Though I prefer the shadowline. Sometimes the Chrome looks reallly good. I guess if you really want your car to stand out to other people maybe chrome is for you. If you like being on the low key then maybe shadowline is the best bet.
However, the 5er is sleek and sweet on its own so you really do not need the chrome to help the car standout. It does it on its own.

We are all victims of marketing, including myself. On some other cars the chrome is the upgrade, on BMW the flat black is the upgrade. Unless you were asked to pick without knowing if it came with the sport package or not, you won't know your true preference. So on BMW's I like the black.

I think you can't go wrong either way, both the shadowline and chromeline trim look good to me. I went for the chromeline since I had to pay extra for the shadowline and I liked both so why pay extra?

Shadow line...
but it has to be the Individual shadow line... varnished, shiny... looks waaaay better than the regular shadow line, what is dull... and it doesn't cost much more than the regular one...
