Shadowline Trim

We are not getting the Sport Package which means the trim around the side windows will be chrome. We are not sure if we will like this on our Jet Black E60 or not and a poll of our friend has come up with and even split - 7 like the Shadowline and 7 like the Chrome. The dealer can install Shadowline if we want. Check out the image below and help us break the tie!

Personally I think the shadow line works better on some colours than others. I had it on an E46 323i Sport which was Titanium Silver and it looked great. It helped to show the profile of the car as the black really shined against the silver. On a black car I don't think is stands out as well. In my opinon the chrome helps to outline the profile of the five and give it more interest.

I was disappointed when ordering that I had to accept the shadow line in order to get the SP. Now, it is totally immaterial. Looking at the pictures you posted, I would have a hard time deciding.

I've always preferred the shadowline trim on all three of my Alpine White 5-series cars.
As I look at the photos of the black car with and without shadowline, I keep flipping back and forth on what looks better. If I had to chose, based on the photos posted, I think I'd stick with the chrome.
UltraPlanet, at least it's a "no-brainer" decision for what to order since you don't have a choice. You could always drive around with the chrome for a while as you think about whether or not you want to upgrade to shadowline at a later time.
