Service Records?

Went i went in for another issue, they took care of mine with no questions asked. I didnt even know about the passenger seat mat recall. They said that they did that as well as the other service i was there for.

Thanks for this. My apologies if i came off hostile. I'm just in need of the records since I have no idea what has been done to my car and I have some malfunctions so prior history could be helpful.

Hi, in many cases they will not give you the history to protect the previous owner's privacy. A reasonable conversation with the service manager should yield the records especially if you suggest that they remove the previous owner's name and details. As for the seat recall, not all models were affected and it could be that your build date was not affected. BMW is very good about recalls, mainly because of lawsuits implications so if your car was due for a recall repair, trust me, they would have done it. Having said that, your car might still be affected and they will eventually get to it, when the dealer gets the notice from BMW headquarters. Look for the letter in the mail and then go, if you get a letter. G/L

They did the same for me, when I bought the car, but they literally cut off the portion with the name and address of the previous owner, which is very reasonable, in my opinion.
