Do you keep the documentation provided after each service (ie. the invoice and/or Measures Plan and Final Report)?

I generally don't keep mine, but I am wondering if I should. What do you guys/gals do??
No, not me. I leave it to the owner of the car (BMFS).

I keep the lot, especially since I know that, when buying a used car, I want to see it all. I also keep a pretty detailed track of fuel fillups and mileage.

Any dealer can pull up everything except CDV modification using the key. This assumes that you use an authorized BMW center for your work.

I always use authorized BMW dealer, will continue to do so long after the warranty/free maintenance is over. So if the dealer can pull up the entire history (are we sure of this even for a 10yr old car?? - I have been taking my Camry to the same dealer - yes even for oil changes - for the last 15 years. Unfortunately the oldest records got rolled off their system.), then I wonder if is it necessary to keep the additional paperwork at home? Maybe get an electronic copy from the dealer...hmmm..... I wonder if anyone has tried that??!!

Cobradav: You just floored me with that spreadsheet . Wow!!! No wonder you work at NASA!! Cheers

Yes, keep them in a binder.

Complete records on every car. Plus - my anal efforts:

Attachment 31886
It is SO gratifying to know I'm not the ONLY AR Bimmerphile out there! My spreadsheet was for fuel and trip computer vs. actual mileage comparisons (had to take my 1998 E39 back to the dealer 3 times before they got the trip computer scale factors to the point that the TC matched actual within 1-2%).

You can be certain that I wil be using your format when I start tracking mileage and maintenance on my 535X! Great job!

I, too, keep all records. This came in very handy in my effort to get my insurance company (Allstate) to give me fair compensation after the E39 was totalled by a taxicab this past January. Actually, I'd say it was worth about $3,000 to keep all the records and to be able to show that the car was meticuously maintained, was owned by an enthusiest, and was worth somewhat more than a used 540 bought off a dealer's lot.
