Hi All,
I was hoping that someone can tell me as to what to expect when I go in for a Service Notice.
I have about 120,000kms on my 2007 550.
Is this something I need to go to the dealer to complete?

Depends what the service is. You will get a service notice whenever the service interval is reached for ANY service, from Microfilters, to Oil Change, to Brake Fluid changes. Complete the service required then you can reset the indicator yourself. Go to the main menu of the iDrive, push down on the controller and it will bring up the Service menu, find the service that needs to be done and complete it. After it's done you can reset the indicator by turning the key to the "On" position without starting the car, then hold down the Odometer reset for 25 seconds, this will bring up the service menu in your dash, select the service you just completed (symbols are fairly obvious to read) then hold the Odometer reset until it flashes reset then push the Odometer reset again and the service interval will be reset. The dealer will charge you for this, which is just stupid.

It is possible you are seeing the "Vehicle Check" service item. This just refers to a general check of vehicle systems/fluids, etc. The dealer would also check for any error codes thrown. You could probably wait until you have some "real" maintenance item due, and them combine them. If you are not already familiar, you should become fluent in checking the Condition Based Service (CBS) items in iDrive to know when the computer anticipates the next service is due.

Thanks guys...it is the vehicle check service notice. I went through the CBS and all is good except for the "vehicle service" symbol.
Maybe I should change the fliuds anyways.
Thanks,
