When I had my car in for service last week, the key reader wouldn't read my key. The SA tried with several readers but none worked. The computer even pulled up different cars! I have Comfort Access and never insert the key into the slot. Could this be the reason? Do I need to insert the key once in a while to make sure the data is saved to the key?

Not a big deal, I'm just curious if anybody has the same experience.

Thanx

Shouldn't need to plug into the slot. I haven't plugged mine into the slot for over 6 months now, and my key was read perfectly fine by service when I took it in last weekend. I looked at the screen when the SA pulled off the info from the key, and it saved my latest mileage before I shut off the car.

Thanks. Maybe they had a problem with system. Let's see next time. I love the convenience never having to touch the key.
