Hope someone can help me with some questions.
1. Had a problem with rough running engine in Phoenix (110 degrees), seems to have stopped but as bad as it was I wonder if it should be checked.
2. Does everyone use premium (91) octane gas in their 545?
3. If I havent had a software upgrade in a while (6 months) should I call and ask for one? Is curent software a reasonable service request? It seems like there may be problems with the parking LED's after the upgrade?
4. I have problems with my passenger side window about 50% of the time activating the anti-trap. Is this software or window motor?
5. My service rep tells me that I cannot get AUX input added for my IPOD. If I have this done aftermarket will I screw up my warranty?
Thanks

5: Don't tell them its the Ipod Aux. I'm sure they misinterpreted thinking you're asking for IPOD integration via IDrive. Just tell them you want the AUX for other audio sources (ie portable DVD player, laptop, PSP, portable CD, etc)
And it does not void your warranty. The work is performed by BMW tech and not by outside vendors.

My Ride: Arrived 3 June 2005: 2005 545i - Orient Blue, Black interior, Sport, Steptronic, Cold Weather, NAV, Sirius, Logic7, Comfort Seats, Sunshades. What a glorious ride!
Apparently I am the only one here who has been told by his CA that use of 89 octane in the 545 is just fine. Though I have filled it only once with 89; just doesn't seem to be worth using less than what the owner's manual specifies. I certainly plan to use 91 octane minimum per the factory spec.

I had a rough running issue and they adjusted the valve clearance quoting a service bulletin (you'll probably find it with a search here, or I? can post the bulletin number when I get home tonight).? It's better, but not *totally* eliminated.? One other thing is that my SA was saying that the rough idle/running issue is much more prevalent in states like CA that have crappy gas, he said that BMW have told them that they see the rough idle issues primarily over on the west coast.? I see you're in AZ, no idea if you can get better than 91 octane there but if you can it's worth a try.? My SA also implied that using an octane booster could help with the gas issues.? Anyone done that?? If so, did it make an appreciable difference?

Did they change the valvetronic levers or just make some kind of adjustment to the existing levers??
