My service indicator keeps reducing the mileage.. I have not gone for my 1st service yet. its currently 9500km and the car indicates it needs servicing on 14000km. is it normal to reduce the service interval by so much ?

 

thats needs servicing in 14000km!!!!!
they dont give you a gauge at what mileage only a gauge of how many to go.

 

But I thought the normal service was 20000km / 1 year. And my mileage will come up to 25000km.
When I 1st got the car, it was at 20000km.

 

I have the new 525D LCI 2008 and the service interval is normally at 30.000km. When I bought it it said 30.000km. as I drove this value decreased but ... now I have about 10.000km and the service says I can drive another 24.000km so service will be at about 34.000km. It al depends on how you drive with your car. A "soft" driver will get more miles (kilometers) for his/her money.

 

It can be anything between 15.000 - 30.000 km's.

My first service was at 15.400 km's when the car was 18 months old from registration,
but 25 months old since fabrication.

 

hhmm.. never tought I drove it that hard though. I am not even getting 15000km, I get only 14000km currently and I guess it will decrease the service mileage in another month. Guess I have to lightly tap the throttle.

 

Got and oilchange yesterday, and it was 29.996 km's since the last one, and the computer said 290 km before service

 

Be aware that for some (or all) service intervals have changed from 15.000km to 30.000km on the LCI's. I'm sure of the 525D. Mine has 30.000km
