Default Service interval ratio...

I bought My E60 in february, the first service on the list to make was front brakes, signing 8000km to go.

now (and 5000+ km done) the service interval signs.... 10000km
I know it "calibrates" itself depending on drivers' behaviour, but it seems to me little excessive. In addiction, the brakes works but are a little noisy.

On which brake pad is the brake sensor mounted, in order to verify if everithing works properly?

Sensors are front left and right rear. You can do the brake service when you need to.

thanks!
the internal or external brake pad?

My question is: can I "trust" in your experiences the service intervals? or, absurdly, if I wait the service go to zero the brakes would be completely worn? is that system "efficient" in E60?

Once the break-sensor triggers, a warning light comes on and on average you can still drive around approx. 200 km, depending on the driving style, but it is advisable to exchange the break pads as soon as possible.

assuming an uniform brake pad wear, right?
if the pad not connected to the sensor (think the internal one, right?) is more worn than the external will not be so precise. it happened me with z3, the external pad was almost ok, the internal one completely finished

I just replaced my front pads, wear sensors and rotors and here is how my experience panned out.....

I knew I needed brakes and rotors, my service indicator was in the yellow and reading 3,000 miles, 2,000 miles, etc. One day I was resetting the service intervals (after an oil change) (which is done through the trip odometer button on the dash - Google it, its pretty cool how you can reset stuff) so anyways I tried resetting the front brake wear sensor and it went from 2,000 miles left to -800 miles! This kind of freaked me out but since the car was still stopping fine (not grinding, etc) I waited until my scheduled appointment a week later. Kind of irritating to drive the car withy the big red "Brake" light displayed all the time, but again I knew they were fine.

Anyways upon removal of the pads and rotors and upon closer inspection the pads themselves still had roughly 10,000 or more miles on them. That leads me to believe that the system as designed is not "perfect" but of course everyone drives differently.

I did use the opportunity to replace the crappy BMW "dust bowl" pads with some nice Hawk ceramic pads and the amount of dust I get now is probably 1/10th of what it was before. Very happy with performance, no noise and an almost complete lack of brake dust.
