Just wondering what other people in the UK (no offence to everyone else but pricing and whats covered are going to be different! ) think about the Service Inclusive options and if they are worth taking.

As I've been told by my local service department, with the E60 there is no Inspection I or Inspection II etc. anymore that they could say would cost me ?250 or whatever but when the car indicates a service is required they put the car key into the machine and it tells them what needs doing so there is no way of giving any indicitive idea of pricing.

On the basis of past experience with previous 3 Series and X5 I have owned where services would be well over ?200, the 3 years/36,000 mile (?410) and 5 years/60,000 mile (?660) options appear to be worth considering, but I was just wondering if I was missing something!

Any thoughts/comments would be appreciated, thanks.

Would obviously depend on your mileage and length of ownership.

For me, the additional cost of c.?200 over the 2 year contract period was not worth it (don't ask me how the dealer worked that price out). This is because I am only contracted to do 14,000 miles over that period, and currently my car is showing that the service is not due until 18,000 miles.
Now, I know that could change over the course of time, depending on how hard I drive the car........but for me I think it's worth the risk, because I might end up being ?200 better off.

Gudge.

If you do the miles and are going to keep the car long enough then it's a no-brainer IMHO.

Remember the full SI covers most items except tyres... When I got mine it was ?750 for 5 yrs/60k. I think there's 2 options now, one for just servicing and the other for all maintainance.

It looks like my pads are going to wear out in <20k so I think I'm on a winner!

hmmm the ?64,000 question!

I'd say probably around 12,000 miles a year, at least half of which is going to be the commute into London and back. I envisage keeping the car for quite sometime.

My 'full' service inclusive was ?750 for 5 yrs....remember, if the car is being sold, its a transferrable option. its the car that is covered, not the owner. with my car due pads front and rear in 2k miles (17k total) it will pay big-time for me and hopefully add some value at selling time.

I think there are now two levels of service inclusive and it has gone up in price...it jumped to ?1000 a week after I got mine.

I got it - and as I doa few track days a year, then it has to be worth it for the break wear alone!
